Superb Trompe l'oell Roberta de Camerino. This is of course what he was known for - his cleverly screened dresses gave the appearance of elaborate dinner suits. He did them on poly jerseys like this one - this fabric was cutting edge at the time and held colour magnificently. It has enough weight to hold the shape as he desired but to still drape and move beautifully on the wearer. It is virtually wrinkle free and easy to travel with. I love the design - this one suggests a a skirt and full bibbed lace shirt with a sash tied about the waist! Two tones of red and a sweeping Aline design. Excellent condition.
Unlined and slips on to wear. Metal buttons with the signature R at the neck and cuffs. The very occasional little pill or very slight scuff to the fabric - this is normal for this type of fabric as it ages and I am being very picky. Note the cut is full through the body but the shoulders are narrow - I did not pin it on my size small mannequin - you can see it is still generous in the body. It will fit a variety of sizes!
